The song that never ends...

It seems like only yesterday it was the beginning of 2011 and I was looking ahead at the year and all but jumping out of my socks in excitement for what was coming. And now that’s all past. Time is rushing by like the strong Karimojong wind, sometimes bringing with it the rough Saharan sand to chafe you, and sometimes bringing cool relief from the constantly rising equatorial heat. I look back at the year and the changes it brought to my life, some good, some less good and most of them drastically important. My two sisters are engaged to awesome people and weddings are fast approaching. Both sisters and their fiancés came for one of the best summers of my life. My best friend finally got to come for two whole months, making for possibly the best fall of my life. I met scores of new people, built friendships, dented others. My grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer, went through treatment and pulled through in one glorious piece. Plans concerning all the events that will make 2012 one of the most memorable years of my life have been constructed, demolished, rebuilt, rearranged and re-rearranged. And for the past few months I have been busy closing off the high school chapter of my life and trying to decide the best way to open the college chapter. Anyone who has ever seen me try to decide what food to order off a menu at a restaurant will be able to appreciate what a challenge that is.
This past year has been crazy. Life is crazy. That’s just how it is. And when New Years rolled around and I looked about me at what changes my life was bringing, all I could do was close my eyes, take a deep breath and smile. Smile like you mean it. Because God is good and my life is full of adventures. The only downside is that I am too busy/lazy to actually get around to writing about any of it...
            So let me begin again.
It is 2012 and looking ahead at the year I am all but jumping out of my socks in excitement for what is coming…
